13% of Americans Think Obama is the Anti-Christ

Obama is the Anti-Christ

According to a new poll, Americans are big believers in conspiracy theories, including the one in which Obama is the Anti-Christ.

Public Policy Polling produced a national poll to measure American’s beliefs of 20 widespread and/or infamous conspiracy theories. The study, which surveyed 1,247 registered American voters over the phone, revealed some interesting/disturbing results.

Among the gems are:

  • 5% of voters believe that Paul McCartney died in 1966 and was replaced by a look-alike
  • 6% of voters believe Osama bin Laden is still alive
  • 11% of voters believe the US government allowed 9/11 to happen
  • 14% of voters believe in Bigfoot
  • 15% of voters think the medical industry and the pharmaceutical industry “invent” new diseases to make money
  • 15% of voters say the government or the media adds mind-controlling technology to TV broadcast signals
  • 28% of voters believe Saddam Hussein was involved in the 9/11 attacks
  • 28% of voters believe secretive power elite with a globalist agenda is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government, or New World Order.
  • 29% of voters believe aliens exist
  • 37% of voters believe global warming is a hoax

And of course, 13% of voters think Barack Obama is the anti-Christ. And another 13% are not sure if he is, in fact, the anti-Christ.

Keep in mind that this survey was conducted through automated telephone interviews, so it was probably a bunch of crazy elderly conspiracy theorists who were waiting by the phone. But still… 13%?
