Come on Bangladesh – get it together! Another factory fire broke out in Dhaka, Bangladesh on Thursday.

The factory fire happened overnight in the Mirpur industrial district in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka. Eight people were killed in the blaze, which was fueled by huge piles of acrylic products used to make sweaters. Joe Fresh sweaters? The victims died of suffocation as they ran down the stairs, away from the death sweaters. By the time firefighters arrived on the scene of the Tung Hai Sweater Ltd. Factory, the first few floors of the building were already engulfed in flames.

Since the death toll from the eight-story building collapse last month has now passed 900, eight garment factory fire deaths don’t even seem like a big deal. And the manager of the factory, Mahbubur Rahman, was among the victims so he can’t even be arrested for subjecting people to unsafe conditions.
