Dylan Farrow Accuses Woody Allen of Sexual Abuse, Woody Allen Accuses Dylan Farrow Of An “Inability To Distinguish Between Fantasy and Reality”

Dylan Farrow vs Woody Allen

In an open letter published on Saturday, Dylan Farrow, the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow and Woody Allen, opened up about the allegations that Allen sexually abused her as a child. Accusing an old man who married his 20 year-old adopted daughter, Soon Yi, of being a pedophile? Sounds about right.

In 1992, the same year that Woody Allen’s affair with Soon Yi was uncovered after Mia Farrow found nude pictures of her 20-year-old daughter in Woody’s apartment, allegations came out that Allen molested Dylan Farrow, his 7-year-old adopted daughter.

The highly publicized case was thrown out at the time because although there was “probably cause” to charge Allen, the prosecutor, with the support of Mia Farrow, had chosen not to for the sake of protecting Dylan. While the scandal had never been far from the surface, this marks the first time that Dylan herself has written publicly about the allegations that Allen sexually abused her as a child.

In an open letter posted online Saturday by The New York Times, Farrow recounts how Woody Allen led her to a “dim, closet-like attic” to molest her at the age of seven and describes the traumas that afflicted her for years afterward, while the rest of the world celebrated Woody’s work.

“What’s your favorite Woody Allen movie? Before you answer, you should know: when I was seven years old, Woody Allen took me by the hand and led me into a dim, closet-like attic on the second floor of our house. He told me to lay on my stomach and play with my brother’s electric train set. Then he sexually assaulted me. He talked to me while he did it, whispering that I was a good girl, that this was our secret, promising that we’d go to Paris and I’d be a star in his movies. I remember staring at that toy train, focusing on it as it traveled in its circle around the attic. To this day, I find it difficult to look at toy trains.” Read the rest here.

Meanwhile, Woody Allen is not happy that this scandal is back in the press. Allen’s publicist Leslee Dart was quick to point out that “a thorough investigation was conducted by court-appointed independent experts” when the allegations were first made.

“The experts concluded there was no credible evidence of molestation; that Dylan Farrow had an inability to distinguish between fantasy and reality; and that Dylan Farrow had likely been coached by her mother Mia Farrow,” Dart continued.

I don’t think anyone’s fantasy is to be molested in a dark closet by Woody Allen – not even Soon Yi’s.
