Texas Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert took a break from denying single mothers welfare checks to give some advice to federal judges ruling on same sex-marriage cases: get some “basic plumbing lessons.”
The day after a federal judge declared Oklahoma’s ban on same-sex marriage to be unconstitutional, Louie Gohmert spoke at a “Conversations With
Stubborn Five-Year-Olds Conservatives” event hosted by the Heritage Foundation. Gohmert, a very vocal opponent of same-sex marriage, used his Q&A period to criticize the legal justification behind recent rulings in favor of gay marriage.
Gohmert pointed out that some of these gay-friendly courts had found that there was no biological evidence that marriage should be limited to a man and a woman – but obviously they haven’t taken Plumbing 101.
“They need some basic plumbing lessons,” he said. “For one omnipotent, omniscious, ubiquitous federal judge who is wise beyond his education to say — to make such a declaration about the law, I think, requires revisiting by each state and compliance with the U.S. Supreme Court.”
Then Michele Bachmann chimed in with a few Obama insults, claiming that refusing to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) on the grounds that it was unconstitutional was an “example of the lawlessness of this president.” Oh, and then she compared Obama to Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi, because why not?
Hmm. Sounds like Michele Bachmann also needs a basic plumbing lesson. Her head is clearly up her ass.
