Indian Woman Paraded Naked on Donkey

india-donkey-woman-naked parade

A 45-year-old woman has been stripped naked and paraded through an Indian village on a donkey. WTF India?

The village council in Rajsamand district in Rajasthan state ordered the donkey parade after the woman was accused of killing her nephew. Her face was blackened with coal and her head was shaved to deepen the humiliation – because sometimes parading around naked on a donkey just isn’t enough.

The nephew’s family say she killed him, but the police, who could not inspect the body because it was cremated, believe he had killed himself. So they took the case to the council of elders, known as a panchayat, who sided with the family and dealt her the donkey punishment after deciding she was guilty. Orders given by panchayats carry no legal weight but are widely respected in rural areas – by everyone except the police.

“It’s a shameful incident that a woman was treated so badly on orders from the village council,” Senior police official Shweta Dhankhad said.

“Initially, she was even afraid to talk about what had happened to her but after the police and officials from the social welfare department arrived, she was able to feel a little safe and narrate her ordeal.”

Police arrested 30 people on Sunday, including nine members of her family. So far, their punishments do not include parading around naked on a donkey – although that would be quite fitting.

Gay Bashing Is Still A Thing In Pennsylvania

Gay Bashing Philly

Three people charged with violently beating two gay men in Philadelphia on September 11 surrendered to police on Wednesday morning.

Philip Williams, 24, Katherine Knott, 24, and Kevin Harrigan, 26, are facing multiple charges including aggravated assault, two counts of simple assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, and one count of conspiracy.

The gay-bashing group “made disparaging remarks about their sexual orientation,” according to police, and proceeded to hold the men down while punching them. The two men went to the hospital with severe injuries and one of the victims needed to have his jaw wired shut.

But what made the trio come forward to the police? Well, soon after the attack, police published on Youtube CCTV footage of the alleged perpetrators walking on a city street and a bunch of social media sleuths managed to match their Facebook photos with the security footage.

And that’s not all the social media sleuths uncovered. Turns out one of the gay bashers is the daughter of Chalfont Borough Police Chief Karl Knott and is alllll over the internet. Links to Katherine Knott’s Twitter page reveal she’s into binge drinking, complaining about non-English speaking people, throwing around antigay slurs, and getting special treatment from her police chief daddy.

Even though prosecutors have said the crime was motivated by the victims’ sexual orientation, no hate crime charges will be filed because… well, it’s Pennsylvania and they’re a little behind the times when it comes to hate crimes. Under current Pennsylvania law, suspects cannot be charged with a hate crime for attacking people due to their sexual orientation, even if the perpetrator clearly thinks gay people are #ew.

Cannibal Cop Will Be Home for Dinner…

Cannibal Cop

‘Cannibal Cop’ Gilberto Valle got a little taste of freedom on Tuesday after a federal judge in New York overturned his conviction, citing insufficient evidence for the charge that he plotted to cook, eat, rape, and murder women.

Judge Paul Gardephe decided the government failed to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the Cannibal Cop “entered into a genuine agreement to kidnap a woman, or that he specifically intended to commit a kidnapping”.

Gardephe wrote in his reversal that “the evidentiary record is such that it is more likely than not the case that all of Valle’s Internet communications about kidnapping are fantasy role-play.”

Without enough evidence to support to the Cannibal Cop’s March 2013 conviction, Gilberto Valle was acquitted of the conspiracy to kidnap charge. However, Gardephe did uphold Valle’s second count of illegally using NYPD databases look up women’s personal information, but since Valle had already served 18 months of his life sentence, he’s basically free – as long as he stays in his mother’s house and away from the computer.

“I want to take the opportunity to apologize to everyone who’s been hurt, shocked and offended by my infantile actions,” a beaming Valle, 30, told a throng of media in his first public statements since his 2012 arrest.

He also thanked his family, his lawyers, and even the staff and inmates at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.

He did not thank his wife, Kathleen Mangan, who testified against him after finding disturbing photos on their shared computer, chat exerts from the website DarkFetishNet.com, and thousands of emails detailing his plans to kidnap, kill and eat young women – including her. Needless to say, they are not on good terms.

Current Event Cat of the Day: Mentally Retarded Prisoner

Too Dumb to Die Prisoner

A federal appeals court issued a stay Tuesday in the execution of Texas prisoner Robert James Campbell just hours before he was to be put to death, deeming him too dumb to die.

Robert James Campbell, a convicted rapist and murderer, and his lawyers had been struggling to stop the execution on the grounds that Texas would not disclose the source of the lethal-injection drug to be used. The execution was set to be the first one since Oklahoma botched the lethal injection of a prisoner two weeks ago, so they thought they had a pretty good shot. But the courts didn’t really care… until the issue of mental retardation came up. Turns out they were barking up the wrong tree – they should have been pressing the mental retardation route the whole time!

With a little more than two hours before he was scheduled to be put to death, the U.S. Court of Appeals decided to give in and put things on hold to review Campbell’s claim that he is mentally disabled.

The court unanimously agreed that the prisoner is “intellectually disabled…and is, therefore, constitutionally ineligible for the death penalty.”

“We have been presented with evidence that Campbell, who will soon be executed unless we intervene, may not constitutionally be executed,” wrote Judge James L. Dennis for the unanimous three-judge panel.

In 2002, the Supreme Court banned the execution of those whom the law refers to as mentally retarded, and has said that an I.Q. of under “approximately 70” indicates retardation. Campbell scored a solid 69.

I am happy. The Lord prevailed,” Campbell said from a cell just outside the death chamber in Huntsville.

Campbell was convicted of capital murder for the 1991 slaying of a Houston bank teller, who was abducted while putting gas into her car, robbed, raped and shot. Pretty high functioning for a “mildly retarded” person…

Judge Orders Ohio Man to Wear “I am a Bully” Sign

I am a Bully

An Ohio man spent five hours on a street corner Sunday with a sign declaring he’s a bully as part of his sentence for bullying his neighbor and her disabled children.

The sign holding sentence stems from sixty-two-year-old Edmond Aviv’s longtime feud with his neighbor Sandra Prugh – who has two adopted children with developmental disabilities, a husband with dementia, and another son who is paralyzed. Prugh claims she’s suffered through 15 years of harassment from Aviv.

The latest incident involved Aviv, who was annoyed at the smell coming from Prugh’s dryer vent when she did laundry, hooking up kerosene to a fan, which blew the smell onto Pugh’s property. Fed up once again, Prugh got the cops involved and they charged him with disorderly conduct.

Prugh said in a letter to the court that Aviv had called her an ethnic slur while she was holding her adopted black children, spit on her several times, regularly threw dog feces on her son’s car windshield, and once smeared feces on a wheelchair ramp.

“I am very concerned for the safety of our family,” Prugh wrote.

Aviv pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge and the judge ordered the bully to serve 15 days in jail, undergo anger management classes and counseling, write an apology letter to Prugh, and spend five hours on a street corner with a sign saying:

I AM A BULLY! I pick on children that are disabled, and I am intolerant of those that are different from myself. My actions do not reflect an appreciation for the diverse South Euclid community that I live in.

Ha! Everyone passing by thought the punishment was quite hilarious – everyone except Aviv, who claims the judge who sentenced him has ruined his life.

“The judge destroyed me,” Aviv said. “This isn’t fair at all.

He smeared feces on a wheelchair ramp and thinks his punishment is unfair? Actually holding a sign for five hours seems like a pretty light sentence for 15 years of being a bitter old cunt.
