City of Paris to Sue Fox News Over “No-Go Zones”

Paris Sues Fox

Paris is planning to sue Fox News after derisive on-air comments damaged “the honor and image of Paris”.

Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo announced the lawsuit during an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.

“When we’re insulted, and when we’ve had an image, then I think we’ll have to sue, I think we’ll have to go to court, in order to have these words removed,” Hidalgo said. “The image of Paris has been prejudiced, and the honor of Paris has been prejudiced.”

Hidalgo is upset with the news channel’s portrayal of life in Paris’ Muslim neighborhoods in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo attacks – but more specifically with its coverage of supposed “no-go zones” for non-Muslims in certain European cities. The network’s morning show, Fox & Friends, even went so far as to produce a map showing the “no-go zones” where non-Muslims are not welcome.

On another Fox show, a guest who was identified as a security expert claimed that in Britain “there are actual cities like Birmingham that are totally Muslim, where non-Muslims just simply don’t go in”. He also claimed that in parts of London, “Muslim religious police” beat and injure “anyone who doesn’t dress according to Muslim religious attire.”

To which British Prime Minister David Cameron replied:

“When I heard this, frankly, I choked on my porridge and I thought it must be April Fools Day… This guy is clearly a complete idiot.”

Critics have accused Fox News of using the controversial “no-go zones” idea to perpetuate a fearful narrative about Muslims. Wait… Fox News is engaging in anti-Muslim fear-mongering?! I can’t believe it! I can totally believe it.

But to be fair, over the weekend Fox News did apologize to “the people of France and England” for mistakenly suggesting that certain European cities have “no-go zones” where non-Muslims are not welcome. And they did make it clear that it’s actually America who has “no-go zones” where Muslims are not welcomed – otherwise referred to as the Fox News studios.

Rupert Murdoch: Moslems Must Destroy Their Growing Jihadist Cancer

Rupert Murdoch

As France mourns the 17 people who died in last week’s attacks on Charlie Hebdo, Fox CEO Rupert Murdoch decided to give his two cents on the matter.

Referring to the terror attacks in Paris last week, Murdoch tweeted “Maybe most Moslems peaceful, but until they recognize and destroy their growing jihadist cancer they must be held responsible.”

And just in case that wasn’t offensive enough, he added in a separate tweet, “Big jihadist danger looming everywhere from Philippines to Africa to Europe to US. Political correctness makes for denial and hypocrisy.”

First, spelling Muslim as Moslem is a great way to show people you’re an old, out-of-touch racist. Second, if Rupert Murdoch thinks all Muslims have to apologize for terrorism, does this mean that all white people have to apologize for Rupert Murdoch?

Charlie Hebdo All Is ForgivenThe editors over at Charlie Hebdo have a slightly different take on the issue. The next cover of Charlie Hebdo, due to be published on Wednesday, features Muhammad holding a sign reading, “Je suis Charlie.” The tagline: “All is forgiven.”

Editor-in-chief Gerard Biard told reporters:

“We are happy to have done it and happy to have been able to do it, to have achieved it. It was tough. The front page… was complicated to put together, because it had to express something new, it had to say something relating to the event that we had to deal with.”

Zineb El Rhazoui, a surviving columnist at Charlie Hebdo magazine, said the cover was a call to forgive the terrorists who murdered her colleagues last week, saying she did not feel hate towards the gunmen and urged Muslims to accept humour.

The magazine plans to print 3 million issues just one week after the attack on its offices which left 12 people dead, including the satirical magazine’s editor and four other cartoonists.

What Poses A Greater Threat to World Peace: ISIS or America?

Harvard ISIS Threat

According to Fox News, neither. The greatest threat to world peace is a “bunch of snot-nosed brats” from Harvard.

Several Harvard students were asked by Campus Reform’s Caleb Bonham whether the U.S. or ISIS pose the greater threat to world peace.

“It’s America. America’s making decisions that are much more likely to affect the world,” one student said.

“As a Western civilization, we’re to blame for a lot of the problems that we’re facing now,” one student said during the interview. “I don’t think anyone would argue that we didn’t create the problem of ISIS, ourselves.”

“American imperialism and our protection of oil interests in the Middle East are destabilizing the region,” another added.

The Fox Outnumbered hosts were shocked and appalled by the students’ answers, with their responses ranging from disbelief to rage to simply mocking the students with snobby British accents (see reactions here). Clearly these kids do NOT SUPPORT OUR TROOPS and clearly they have fake British accents because apparently that’s a thing among rich unpatriotic anti-American brats?

The guest judge, country star John Rich, who sporting a cowboy hat (presumably to lend credibility to his thoughts), was especially outraged at the anti-American sentiment he was hearing.

“These are obviously kids that don’t know somebody who’s serving. They don’t have anybody in their family that’s ever taught them about this country and what the DNA of our country is about,” said Rich, who added that his grandfather served in WWII and his father taught him about the importance of saying the Pledge of Allegiance each morning.

Now, the hosts over at Outnumbered were quick to point out that America is by no means perfect (although it comes pretty close) and it’s perfectly acceptable to criticize your country. Unless they disagree even in the slightest with that criticism – then you’re just a snot-nosed brat who hates the troops. Next.

How Dare 911 Operators Take Calls From Non-English Speakers!

Fox and Friends NOn-English Speakers 911

The folks over at Fox & Friends were shocked and appalled this week after they learned that emergency responders were “forced” to serve non-English speakers in life-threatening situations – even if the callers were suspected of entering the country illegally!

On Wednesday’s show, the Fox friends began a lighthearted discussion on how undocumented Non-English speaking immigrants in Brooks County, Texas are “bombarding” the police department with 911 calls – which quickly devolved into Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade screaming “No English? No emergency!!”

“They stumbled across the border illegally and now they need your help!” Fox News host Steve Doocy complained, after hearing a 911 call where a distressed Spanish-speaking male requests emergency assistance for his cousin, whom the man described as “turning purple.”

“A small Texas town forced to answer 911 from stranded illegals in Spanish!” Doocy exclaimed, apparently giving up all his previously held pro-life values.

“Not only are they understaffed and lacking resources, now they’ve got to deal with illegal immigrants who have no business being here,” co-host Brian Kilmeade chimed in.

How Doocy and Kilmeade know that all the Spanish-speaking people in Texas who call 911 are “illegal immigrants who have no business being here” is still unclear. All we know is that they couldn’t possibly be Spanish-speaking Americans with an emergency or tourists trying to get help – because that wouldn’t fit into the Fox & Friends agenda.

Unfortunately for the Fox duo, Brooks County Chief Deputy Urbino “Benny” Martinez says that his department has a duty to respond to all 911 calls, regardless of language or citizenship.

“They’re on U.S. soil. Due process comes into play, and that’s the way we’re taking them as,” Martinez said.

And even worse for the Fox friends, Martinez referred to the influx of migrants as a “humanitarian crisis” (as opposed to some kind of Mexican invasion) and urged a bipartisan dialogue to swiftly address the problem.

“Forget about the Republican side, forget about the Democratic side. Sit down and have a sincere dialogue where they can actually resolve this issue,” he said. “It has to be resolved. As long as they keep stalling it, it’s going to continue until our funds are depleted.”

Humanitarian crisis? Bipartisan dialogue? Get this sheriff off the show!

Fox News Uses Footage of Random Sad Asians Instead of South Korean Mourners

Fox News Random Sad Asians Footage

Instead of using footage of actual Korean mourners when reporting on the South Korean ferry tragedy, Fox News mistakenly used some other footage they had on file of what appeared to be a bunch of random sad Asians.

With the ferry death toll standing at 248, you’d think there would abundance of footage of grieving South Korean families, but Fox News, assuming that once you’ve seen one sad Asian, you’ve seen them all, opted for a clip of some seemingly random Asians crying, ignoring the actual footage of grieving families who lost loved ones in the sinking of the Sewol ferry.

The only problem? The mourners they showed weren’t even Korean. The Fox footage turned out to be Tibetans mourning following the recent avalanche at Mt. Everest. Classic mistake!

“You show that to any sort of Korean immigrant who lives in the United States, and they’ll say those aren’t Koreans,” said Rick Phillips of the Korean Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Fox News, surprised that its viewers could actually tell the difference between Asian variations, admitted its screw-up.

“The wrong video was mistakenly pulled from the international feed. We regret this error and have corrected the footage online and will address it on air, as well,” says David Clark, Fox News’s executive producer for weekend news and programming.

But in their defense, Fox isn’t the only news outlet to screw up their video footage.

A Danish news station once showed an image from the video game Assassin’s Creed, apparently mistaking it for the Damascus skyline. And on another occasion, the BBC tried to report on the UN Security Council, but ended up showing the logo from the United Nations Space Command in Microsoft’s Halo. Oops.

Cliven Bundy Knows “About the Negro” (But Fox Didn’t Until It Was Too Late)

 Cliven Bundy

Cliven Bundy, the Nevada rancher who became a Fox News hero after he refused to pay the federal government for grazing his cattle on federal lands, knows a thing or two about the Negro – and he’s definitely not afraid to say it.

Sean Hannity and the Fox News crew began their love affair with the 67-year-old rancher after a standoff broke out between Cliven Bundy and federal rangers. Bundy had been grazing his cattle on federal lands for two decades without paying the proper fees like all the thousands of other Nevada ranchers do. But Bundy had a good reason not to pay the feds – he doesn’t believe in the United States federal government.

“I’ll be damned if this is the property of the United States. They have no business here,” he said.

Well that settles that! Spoken like a true Fox News patriot! Except the feds weren’t buying it. As armed federal rangers tried to force him off his land, militiamen and conservative pundits rallied by the side, winning the standoff and making him the darling of Fox News. In a two-week stretch this month, Fox News devoted four hours and 40 minutes to Cliven Bundy’s heroic story during late afternoon and evening broadcasts.

But then he kept talking…

In an interview with The New York Times earlier this week, Bundy got to telling people about his views on race relations. Spoiler alert: they aren’t very progressive.

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he began, going on to complain about how he thinks they just sit on their porches all day.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do? They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton.”

“And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

And all of a sudden Republicans felt the urge to distance themselves from the cattle rancher…

Fox News host Sean Hannity, who led the charge in promoting Bundy’s cause, said Thursday that Bundy’s racist remarks are “beyond repugnant” and “beyond despicable.” And Rand Paul, who had previously expressed support for Bundy, said in a statement, “His remarks on race are offensive and I wholeheartedly disagree with him.”

Meanwhile Cliven Bundy is standing by his statement, saying he’s not a racist but only somebody who spoke his mind, perhaps using politically incorrect language. Perhaps?

When asked to elaborate on his comments, Bundy said he “didn’t really mean it to compare (African-Americans’ current plight) with slavery. I meant to compare it with maybe life on the farm or life in the South, where they had some chickens and the gardens, and they had something to do.”

“They’re not slaves no more. They seem to be slaves to the welfare system.”

Well that sounds much better…  Just give them some chickens so they have something to do other than mooch off the welfare system – says the man whose cattle have been illegally feeding off public lands for two decades.

And as further proof that Cliven Bundy isn’t racist and his comments were taken out of context, the rancher claimed he personally knew a black man.

“He’s been in and out of my home,” Bundy said. “I think he feels welcome as anybody else.”

Well, not anymore…

Santa Claus is White Because Martin Luther King was Black

Megyn Kelly Santa Claus

Last week, Fox News Host Megyn Kelly sparked some heated debate over Santa Claus’s race. Kelly argued that Santa was white because “he just is”, the same way that Jesus is white – he just is!!

Kelly claimed that both Santa and Jesus are historical figures and their whiteness is a “verifiable fact,” despite the fact that Santa Claus is an imaginary elf and Jesus is widely believed to be a Jew with a rather dark complexion. Kelly received some flack for her assertions from the liberal media but libertarian radio host Neal Boortz has her back on this one.

Filling in for Herman McCain on his radio show, Boortz and some random caller stick up for Megyn Kelly and her vision of a white Christmas.

“Yeah, I’m sorry, Santa Claus is white!” Boortz exclaims. “Okay? Deal with it!”

“Everything has got to be black now, it doesn’t matter what it is,” the caller complains.

“You know, I’m going to scream and complain because Martin Luther King is always portrayed as black,” Boortz quips. “It just ain’t right.”

Well there go all of Herman McCain’s listeners…

So…. let me get this straight: Martin Luther King is black, Jesus is questionably white, Santa is an imaginary elf, and Neal Boortz is borderline retarded?

Megyn Kelly’s Dreaming of a White Santa…

Megyn Kelly Black Santa

In response to a Slate article about a black versus white Santa, Megyn Kelly declared on her Fox News show that both Santa Claus and Jesus were white.

Slate’s Aisha Harris wrote that she had always been confused as a child because the Santa in her home had brown skin like her, but the Santa in malls and on television was always white. Harris then argued that there should be more diverse representations of Santa Claus. Or why not remove race altogether and make Santa a penguin, she asks?

“For one thing, making Santa Claus an animal rather than an old white male could spare millions of nonwhite kids the insecurity and shame that I remember from childhood,” she wrote.

“Let’s ditch Santa the old white man altogether, and embrace Penguin Claus—who will join the Easter Bunny in the pantheon of friendly, secular visitors from the animal kingdom who come to us as the representatives of ostensibly religious holidays.”

Apparently Pengiun Santa was too much for Megyn Kelly to take and she decided to make it crystal clear that Santa (and Jesus!) are both the whitest of white men.

“You know, I’ve given her her due. Just because it makes you feel uncomfortable doesn’t mean it has to change,” Kelly said. “Jesus was a white man, too. It’s like we have, he’s a historical figure that’s a verifiable fact, as is Santa, I just want kids to know that. How do you revise it in the middle of the legacy in the story and change Santa from white to black?”

Santa Claus can be traced to a real life monk named St. Nicholas who lived in what is today Turkey and Jesus was a Jew of Mediterranean descent – so it’s debatable how white they really were. Next thing you know she’ll be saying God in white! And if Bruce Almighty taught me anything, it’s that God is Morgan Freeman.

Fox Host: Obamacare is Worse than the Iraq War and Katrina

Martha MacCallum Katrina Obamacare

Fox News host Martha MacCallum made the insightful comment that Obamacare is more devastating than both Hurricane Katrina and the Iraq War because it directly touches the lives of more people.

In a segment on America’s Newsroom, Martha MacCallum pointed out that unlike a hurricane which nearly obliterated an entire city and a war which took the lives of thousands of American soldiers and injured hundreds of thousands more, a glitchy health care website affects EVERYBODY.

“What I keep coming back to in all of this is unlike other issues — Katrina or the Iraq war — that we’ve seen in [President George W. Bush’s] second term, this is something that touches so many people’s lives across the country,” MacCallum said. “And you don’t know whether the president is going to be able to successfully dodge it.”

And while MacCallum’s guest, Fox News contributor Brit Hume, seems to agree, I’m not sure that the Iraq war and Obamacare are entirely comparable. No one died as a result of Obamacare (minus all those elderly people who were shot execution style by the death panels), whereas the war may have had its fair share of causalities.

But that’s not part of Fox’s logic: thousands of Americans needlessly dying in a war? No problem. Preventing people from needlessly dying by offering them affordable healthcare? Un-American!

Air-Conditioning Is The Ugly Side of Welfare

Hasselbeck on Welfare

Fox News host Elisabeth Hasselbeck believes that air conditioning and television are the “ugly side” of welfare.

On Thursday’s episode of Fox & Friends, Hasselbeck brought up a report from libertarian Fox Business host John Stossel, which claims that entitlements have created a culture of dependence and that the taxpayer is footing the bill while recipients live the good life.

Stossel goes undercover as a journalist and asks welfare recipients questions about the “good life” that they’re leading.

“You have a cell phone?” Stosell asked a man on the street.

“Yeah of course I do,” he responds.

“Yeah, I have a TV,” one woman admits.

“Yeah, I have a television,” a man tells Stossel.

“Do you have air conditioning?” Stossel questions.

“Yes,” the man replies.

HOW DARE THEY – was Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s first reaction after watching the clips.

“Do these folks really need to be on welfare?” she asked. “Is welfare creating more victims than it’s actually helping?”

Yes says Stossel! Taxpayers are victims for having to fund it and welfare recipients are victims because now they are hooked on free stuff and totally lazy. Stossel claims that welfare is a new idea and before that private charities were used to help the poor. And of course the private charities did it better than the government “because they knew who needs help and who needed a kick in the rear.”

Hasselbeck agreed that welfare makes people far too dependent on the government, claiming people lack motivation because they can earn more money in some states being on welfare than they can working a minimum wage job.

“The motivation to go get a job is almost non-existent in 35 states,” Hasselbeck said.

So to sum up Fox & Friends’ general outlook, the poor should have:

  • no health care
  • no livable wages
  • no easily accessible contraception
  • no food stamps
  • no form of entertainment (television, games)
  • no form of communication (phones)

And they must be able survive summer in the south without air conditioning. Maybe that’ll give ‘em some motivation! Nothing gets people off their feet quite like extreme heat…
