Judge Orders Ohio Man to Wear “I am a Bully” Sign

I am a Bully

An Ohio man spent five hours on a street corner Sunday with a sign declaring he’s a bully as part of his sentence for bullying his neighbor and her disabled children.

The sign holding sentence stems from sixty-two-year-old Edmond Aviv’s longtime feud with his neighbor Sandra Prugh – who has two adopted children with developmental disabilities, a husband with dementia, and another son who is paralyzed. Prugh claims she’s suffered through 15 years of harassment from Aviv.

The latest incident involved Aviv, who was annoyed at the smell coming from Prugh’s dryer vent when she did laundry, hooking up kerosene to a fan, which blew the smell onto Pugh’s property. Fed up once again, Prugh got the cops involved and they charged him with disorderly conduct.

Prugh said in a letter to the court that Aviv had called her an ethnic slur while she was holding her adopted black children, spit on her several times, regularly threw dog feces on her son’s car windshield, and once smeared feces on a wheelchair ramp.

“I am very concerned for the safety of our family,” Prugh wrote.

Aviv pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge and the judge ordered the bully to serve 15 days in jail, undergo anger management classes and counseling, write an apology letter to Prugh, and spend five hours on a street corner with a sign saying:

I AM A BULLY! I pick on children that are disabled, and I am intolerant of those that are different from myself. My actions do not reflect an appreciation for the diverse South Euclid community that I live in.

Ha! Everyone passing by thought the punishment was quite hilarious – everyone except Aviv, who claims the judge who sentenced him has ruined his life.

“The judge destroyed me,” Aviv said. “This isn’t fair at all.

He smeared feces on a wheelchair ramp and thinks his punishment is unfair? Actually holding a sign for five hours seems like a pretty light sentence for 15 years of being a bitter old cunt.

Meet Mrs. Sexy Crabtree, An Ohio Mom Who Underwent A Sexy Name Change

Sexy Crabtree

A central Ohio woman who despised her “ugly” name, Sheila, legally changed her first name to Sexy.

41-year-old Sheila Ranea Crabtree wanted a name that better reflected her “fun and free-spirited” personality. Referring to her given name as “the ugliest one out there,” Crabtree applied for a name change. After debating between Sparkle and Sinder, Crabtree had an epiphany:

“I wear Victoria’s Secret clothes all the time. I was like, shoot, I’ll just go for Sexy!” she said.

With the name nailed down, Crabtree now had to convince the judge to go along with it. After reassuring Licking County Judge Robert Hoover that her husband and teenage daughters were totally fine with the name change, Crabtree eagerly awaited his ruling.

“What is your reasoning behind changing your first name to Sexy?” the judge asked her.

“I feel like I’m a free-spirited person, I love to have fun, and this is the last piece to make my life complete,” she said.

Plus, undergoing a name change is a much easier and more cost-effective way to become sexy compared to undergoing plastic surgery. Although if you have to change you’re name to sexy, you’re probably not very sexy to begin with…

Anyways, the judge, who has previously rejected such names as Tasmanian Devil and Winnie Pooh, sided with Sexy.

“The court will grant you your request,” Hoover said during the Tuesday court hearing.

Upon hearing the good news Sexy Crabtree and her husband went to Logan’s Roadhouse to celebrate.

Ohio Execution Uses Untested Drugs… Goes Horribly Wrong

Dennis Mcguire Execution Untested Drugs

What’s worse than being executed by the state (besides being the victim of a ruthless killer)? Being executed by the state using an untested combination of drugs.

On the morning of his execution, convicted murderer Dennis McGuire received a lethal injection using an untested combination of two drugs. Needless to say, it did not go well.

The Ohio inmate, convicted of the rape and fatal stabbing of a pregnant newlywed in 1989, appeared to gasp and convulse for roughly 10 minutes before he died, “making snorting and choking sounds…with his chest heaving and his fist clenched.” Nearly 25 minutes passed between the time the lethal drugs were injected and the time McGuire was pronounced dead.

The execution was a controversial one because Ohio, like many other pro-death penalty states, has been forced to find drug alternatives after European-based manufacturers banned U.S. prisons from using their drugs in executions – specifically the Danish-based Lundbeck, which manufactures pentobarbital, the go-to lethal injection drug. Damn those Danish restrictions! But I guess now they can cross Ohio’s recent concoction of the sedative midazolam and the painkiller hydromorphone off their list of possible replacements…

Although McGuire’s attorney’s failed to stop the execution on the basis of cruel and unusal punishment, on Friday, Dennis McGuire’s daughter, Amber, announced plans to file a lawsuit over her father’s death – one day after the “agony and terror” of watching him die.

“It was the most awful moment in my life to witness my dad’s execution,” she said in a statement ahead of the news conference. “I can’t think of any other way to describe it than torture.”

I wonder if the rape and stabbing lasted longer than 25 minutes?

The Steubenville Rape Case Isn’t Over Yet… And Other News

Steubenville Trent Mays, Ma'lik Richmond

If you thought the Steubenville rape case was over when two teenage boys were convicted of the crime, you were mistaken.

Now four new charges have been filed in the Steubenville case against four school employees, including the school superintendent. The superintendent, Michael McVey, was charged Monday with tampering with evidence, obstruction of justice, and falsification in the alleged 2012 rape of a 16-year-old girl. Also in the hot seat are assistant volunteer football coach Michael Belardine who has been indicted on charges of allowing underage drinking, obstruction, falsification, and contributing to unruliness, Steubenville elementary school principal Lynnett Gorman who has been indicted on a charge of failure to report child abuse, and wrestling coach slash teacher Seth Fluharty, who has also been indicted for failure to report child abuse. Moral of the story: don’t try to help rapists – even if they are Steubenville high school football players. CNN

Riga supermarket foor collapsePlot twist: Latvian president Andris Berzins is calling Thursday night’s supermarket collapse MURDER. The shopping mall roof collapse in Riga, Latvia, left 54 people dead and seven missing. The collapse, which took place when the mall was packed with after-work shoppers, is thought to have been caused by the garden being constructed on the roof of the mail. Apparently, the weight of the soil was too much for the roof. Following the collapase Andris Berzins called on foreign experts to investigate the situation. “We cannot call it a natural accident, because nature wasn’t involved. The evening was calm and silent with a little fog. This is our own made disaster,” Berzins said. BBC News

Saudi JulietA modern day Romeo & Juliet: Middle Eastern style. A Saudi woman illegally crossed the border to Yemen to be with her Yemeni lover. The two lovers, who have been living in an immigration detention centre since their arrival, decided to elope and flee to Yemen after the girl’s family rejected the idea of marriage. The woman, known as Huda, has now been given UN protection on the grounds that she could face mistreatment, even death, at the hands of her family if returned home and is now likely to get refugee status. In Yemen, the case is being celebrated as a modern-day Romeo and Juliet story, but over in Saudi Arabia, the government is calling for her to be deported. BBC News

Morocco RapeSpeaking of tragic love stories (minus the love), Moroccan activists are trying to repeal a law that exonerates rapists who marry their victims after another Moroccan teen committed suicide after her family forced her to marry her rapist. According to Article 475, a rapist can avoid a prison sentence by marrying his victim. After the latest victim ,a 16-year-old, was raped by another minor, her family, not wanting their daughter to be thought of as damaged goods, negotiated with the rapists family and proposed the two get married. Apparently this didn’t sit well with the young victim and she decided that taking her own life was a better option. Solid choice. Al Jazeera

Adam LanzaAfter a nearly year long investigation into last year’s shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, no clear reason has been found as to why 20-year-old Adam Lanza killed 20 first graders, six adults, his own mother and then himself. The exhaustive 48-page report released by Connecticut police, reveals that investgiators are still stumped over Lanza’s motive. All they could come up with was a history of mental-health issues, a “strong interest in firearms” and a “preoccupation with mass shootings.” Lanza apparently enjoyed violent video games, including one called “School Shooting” – but he also liked “Dance Dance Revolution” so that kind of cancels the shooting game out… The report wasn’t a total loss though. Investigators did determine that Lanza acted alone – so at least we know there aren’t any more crazy child shooters out there roaming the countryside of Newtown, Connecticut. For now. New York Times

Current Event Cat of the Day: Ariel Castro

Current Event Cat - Ariel Castro

Ariel Castro, the man accused of kidnapping three Ohio women for roughly a decade, pleaded not guilty to 329 charges including rape, kidnapping, and aggravated murder. He’s totally guilty.

Ariel Castro’s numerous charges include 139 of rape, 177 of kidnap and two of aggravated murder for the deaths of two unborn children one of the women miscarried after forced starvation and beatings.

Ariel Castro, 52, has been accused of kidnapping three women – Michelle Knight, 32, Amanda Berry, 27, and Gina DeJesus, 23 – as teenagers and holding each captive for over a decade before their rescue last month. He is also reported to have fathered a child with Amanda Berry. Since the indictment last week, new details have emerged about the extent of the imprisonment – including restraint in chains and assault for attempted escapes.

Castro, a former bus driver, had nothing to say for himself – he wore an orange jumpsuit, kept his head down, and did not speak during Wednesday’s brief arraignment hearing. He is currently being held on $8 million bail. Last week he was taken off suicide watch in jail but the prosecutors really want him dead so they’re contemplating whether or not the case is appropriate to seek the death penalty.

Missing Ohio Girls Found After 10 Years

Ohio Missing Women

There’s new hope for all those people out there with missing children and/or cats: Three Ohio women who went missing as teens have been found in a house in Cleveland.

The three women disappeared from the same Ohio neighbourhood in the early 2000s. Michelle Knight, now 32, disappeared in 2002 and was later presumed to have run away; Amanda Berry, now 27, was last seen in 2003 after telling her sister she had a ride home from Burger King; Gina De Jesus, now 23, went missing in 2004 while walking home from school.

The women were found in a house along with at least one child after Amanda Berry escaped and made a frantic 911 call, saying she’d been kidnapped. Neighbour Charles Ramsey heard Amanda crying for help.

“I heard screaming… And I see this girl going nuts trying to get outside of the house,” Charles Ramsey told local news.

“I go on the porch, and she said ‘Help me get out. I’ve been here a long time.’”

Ramsey then kicked out the bottom of the locked door and Amanda crawled through with a small child. She then went into a nearby home and called the police, begging them to come as soon as they could “before he gets back.”

“I’m Amanda Berry. I’ve been kidnapped. I’ve been missing for 10 years. I’m free. I’m here now,” Berry said in the recording of her frantic call to 911.

Police have arrested three brothers, Ariel, Pedro, and Oneil Castro, in connection with the case. At least one brother, Ariel Castro, lived in the house. Neighbours said the house was always dark, with boarded-up windows, and Castro always entered through the back door.

The women were released from a local hospital on Tuesday. While physically ok, the details of the trauma they may have suffered in captivity have not yet been released. At least one of the girls, Amanda Berry, had a child while in captivity – now 6 years old. That’s going to be a lot of therapy…

Ohio Practices Abstinence Only… And Other News

abstinence only

Ohio is taking us back to the 1950s. A super pro abstinence sex education amendment has been added to the Ohio House’s budget bill.

The new amendment focuses on teaching students abstinence instead of sex education. More specifically, the amendment said “the State Board of Education shall require course material and instruction in venereal disease education, and additional courses should do some of the following: stress that students should abstain from sexual activity until after marriage; students should be taught that conceiving children out of wedlock is likely to have harmful consequences for the child, the child’s parents and society.” What happens if you’re caught giving students sex education material? A $5,000 civil fine! NBC News

ObamaRound 1: NRA, 1. Obama, 0. The Senate failed to pass the gun-control bill on Wednesday and Obama is upset. Joe Biden looks pretty upset too. “This was a pretty shameful day for Washington,” President Obama said at the White House. “But this effort is not over.” The bill fell six votes short of the 60 needed to pass the measure. Who’s to blame? Obama placed the blame on Republicans, lobbyists for gun manufacturers and the NRA. But according to Obama, this is just “round one” and he will not stop fighting for stricter gun control. Unless he gets hit by a stray bullet. BBC News

Lorena Bobbitt 2.0Lorena Bobbitt 2.0. The trial of Catherine Kieu, who cut off her husband’s penis in 2011, has begun in Southern California. Kieu was angry at her cheating husband so she laced his tofu with sleeping pills, tied him up to their bed, cut off his penis with a 10-inch kitchen knife, and then chopped it up in the garbage disposal, all while yelling “You deserve it!” The husband’s penis, needless to say, was unable to be reattached. While he had surgery that enables him to urinate, he says, “I will never have a sex life again.” ABC News

JapaneseAn old hooker with a large price tag: A 77-year-old Japanese woman received $4 million over a seven year period from a 79-year-old man in exchange for sexual and romantic favours. For that price, he could’ve got a Kardashian! But the man says he gave her the money with the understanding that it was a loan to be paid back. Instead, she used it to fund her luxury lifestyle, buying several luxury cars, including a BMW, a Mercedes-Benz, and a Jaguar, as well as a condominium. Her gold digging dreams are over now though: a local court has ordered her to pay back the roughly 400 million yen of sex money. Japan Daily Press
