Wayne LaPierre has a Solution to Violent Rapists: More Guns

Wayne LaPierre

National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre’s solution to everything is more guns.

During his speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference, Wayne LaPierre defended his proposal for armed guards in every school and repeated his call for the widespread use of guns for Americans to defend themselves. LaPierre claims that guns are vital in protecting women against violent rapists.

“The one thing a violent rapist deserves to face is a good woman with a gun,” he said.

Wait, a gun is the best defense against a violent rapist? I always thought not dressing like a slut was…

LaPierre also used his speech to imply that universal background checks and gun registries were nothing more than ways for the government to confiscate guns. According to Wayne LaPierre, universal background checks are a placebo that won’t have any effect on criminal activity and gun registries are only there for taxation or confiscation purposes.

“In the end, there are only two reasons for federal government to create that federal registry of gun owners — to tax them, or to take them,” LaPierre said. ”Are they insane? What’s the point of registering lawful gun owners anyways? So newspapers can print those names for gangs and criminals to access?”

Yes, the government is the one who’s insane.  LaPierre tried to pin the crazy on his critics, accusing the federal government, the Department of Homeland Security, “Washington elites” and even Vice President Joe Biden of offering ridiculous solutions to the problem of gun violence.

Gun control advocates “insult [us], they denigrate, and they call us ‘crazy’ for holding fast to [our opposition to gun control]. In their distorted view of the world, they’re smarter than we are; they’re special; they’re more worthy than we are; they know better than we do,” he said. “The liberal media can keep hating on me, but I’m still standing.”

Until he tries to violently rape someone…
